21st Century Community Learning Centers

In January 2010 FEAST contracted with the City of Asheville and their 21st Century Community Learning Center to provide weekly cooking classes with high school and middle school students at the Burton Street Community Center and the Shiloh Community Center. The contract was extended into June to provide classes at with the Stephens Lee Community Center summer program. The contract was renewed for the 2010 -2011 school year. Due to funding shortages, in the 2011 – 2012 school year the 21st CCLC is no longer providing classes at the Burton Street and Shiloh Community centers, they moved all services to the In Real Life after school program at Asheville Middle School .

In December 2010 FEAST contracted with the YMCA and their 21st Century Community Learning Center to provide 8 classes during the remainder of the 2010 – 2011 school year split between their Enka Middle School and Erwin Middle School locations.  During the 2011 – 2012 school year FEAST was contracted to provide one 7 week series of classes with students attending the Owen Middle School 21st CCLC program.  In our continued partnership with the YMCA 21st Century Community Learning Center FEAST is providing 1 series of enrichment classes at each of the 4 learning center sites, Enka, Erwin, Reynolds, and Owen Middle Schools!
